[ A little while after this conversation, Kallie decides to turn to her voice instead of typing for leaving a message to Sierra about it. Trying to figure out how to word it would cause far more delay and stress than her self-patience is comfortable with. ]

Hey... I talked to that kid on here who remembers me, at least...

[ ... Yeah, this is harder than it should be, but she's determined to get it out and over with instead of dancing around it uselessly. ]

Would you be willing to go with me to meet him somewhere? I'm-- pretty sure he wouldn't agree to just me alone.

[ Sierra's still a little boggled that there's anyone else beyond Kallie from...well, wherever they're from. Or however people normally put it. People known from another life and time.

She'd been fairly convinced it was just Kallie Raydan for however long, and the idea of another person she just hadn't run into was...interesting?

Sierra has to admit she's more than a little curious. ]

Sure. If you give me when and where, I'll be there.

[ You know, as long as it's not during a time she works or has school, but yeah. ]

[ It's weird, but just yet another thing that Kallie has reluctantly accepted by now. Sierra's honestly the first she's run into though that doesn't make her uncomfortable aside from embarrassed and awkward, though. As things go, with her and Miles getting off on such a bad foot, and being all kinds of unsure over the sort of Echoed-back stuff Jake prompts, that sort of emotion seems hardly inconsequential. ]

... If you've got any ideas, I'm listening... when are you free?

[ On second thought, maybe asking the teenager about places would be a better option, but having a suggestion or two probably wouldn't hurt? ]

A lot of weekends, and later in the evenings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And if you mean where to go...

[ ...She hasn't hung out anywhere normal in ages, but. ]

A coffee shop or the mall? The former we could probably snag a quieter table, or something, for privacy.

Yeah... that's about as good as I can come up with.

Looks like we'll probably be on the same page, though. I'm usually open by evening. [ A harsher sigh, perhaps a little more dramatic than necessary, but this back and forth when she feels like she's already walking on thin ice socially is tiring. ] I'll see what he thinks.

Of the three people involved, Sierra's probably the most willing to just go with the flow of this meetup. ]

It was like. Different from the others? Like it was a memory like with pink hair you and battle armor Kallie, except I didn't recognize the girl I was talking to. She was short, like you short maybe shorter, and had... blue hair?

So, like. Apparently there were going to only be me, her, and some other person at her birthday party for some reason, which was kind of weird? Like I was all like "wish there could be more people here like the ~old days~" but apparently she was rad as long as me and-- are names bad to say? whatever, the other person showed up.

Do these memories ever become easy to piece together?

[ Normally, he'd be all for going to a food place for a meeting but it's just so damn gorgeous out that he couldn't imagine doing that. It's the kind of day where you should be friggin arrested if you spend it indoors. So he's probably just as happy for an excuse to go out walking as Sierra is. Probably.

That being the case, he of course doesn't bother driving to the park and just walks. It's only a little before six by the time he gets there, and it thankfully hasn't started cooling down just yet. (Damn this is great. He so can't wait for summer to start.) When he gets there, he starts scanning the area for familiar faces. There hadn't been any specific "spot" he and Sierra had planned to meet at, but he figures if he just keeps his eyes peeled, he should be able to spot her eventually. Not like this is Central Park or anything.

...Thinking about it, this is actually the first time he's "planned" to meet anyone from the network, isn't it? Especially for the sake of talking about pulses. There's something kind of cool and covert feeling about it. You know, in a dorky sort of way. ]

[ .......... Oh. Well then.

All Kallie can think of after that, following several minutes of silence, is: ]

[ The movies are really pretty bad. Her brother's cinematic tastes are highly questionable, and while Sierra loves Noah, she does not love him enough to suffer through another monster movie marathon. There have been so many of those already.

Sierra's arranged to meet with Network people before - obviously, she'd seen Jake when she'd met up with Kallie and Miles that once, and she'd met up with Kallie various times since, and a few others as well - but it's always a little nerve-wracking when you know you're probably getting into something that's going to bring about echoes. They're hard to avoid, sometimes.

And she'd forgotten to warn him that her hair had gone pink, like Kallie's had ages ago, only all at once. So there was that, too. When she comes into view, though, it's just Sierra in jeans and a white shit, a light spring-weather jacket thrown on top just in case. Summer can't come quickly enough, but it's not quite there, yet. She'll wave when she spots Jake (Snow). ]

Hey! You haven't been waiting long, right?

[ Jake is far too excited for warmer weather finally breaking out that he doesn't think about bringing a jacket. So he's just in a gray Adidas t-shirt and jeans. Maybe if he dresses like it won't get colder, it won't. ...Yeah it won't happen, but he's hopeful dammit.

As it turns out, Sierra isn't hard to spot at all... though not for the reasons he'd been thinking. Her waving catches his attention first, but it's her hair that keeps it as she approaches. ...He should probably wave and greet her back. And not gawk at her. Yeah, he should probably be doing that right about now. ...Or now.

She might have been prepared for the possibility of Echoes, but apparently Jake hadn't considered that when he'd planned this little get-together. So he's suddenly blindsided with a really random memory: A beach. A sunset. Sierra with pink hair and that sideways ponytail, waving for his attention from a distance. She's in some kind of private school uniform rather than anything you'd wear to a beach. And... that's all.

He eventually manages to blink and get himself focused enough to smile back. In reality, he'd probably only been staring for a few moments, but it felt like it had been waaay too long. ...Hopefully that hadn't come across as offensive staring. ]

Nah, I just... got here a few minutes ago.

[ He gives a small, vaguely embarrassed laugh. No sense in just acting like that hadn't just happened. ]

Sorry. You kinda surprised me.

[ It's all right. Sierra's almost used to staring from Network people - at least in their little group. Well, Noah rarely stares even when he echoes something back, but that's just because his first reaction is always to spill his guts to his sister about whatever he just saw or thought. It's...Noah. Kallie and Miles she's caught staring before, though. Especially Kallie. And she's seen other people echo.

After a while, you get used to it. Almost.

She has no idea what he got back, but... ]

Echo? I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the... [ She gestures to her hair, pulling a quick face. ] ...Whole thing I have going on, now. It's been a little while. Kallie had me mentioning to people ages ago I might dye it, though, so it's...you know, workable.

[ Her family just thinks she wanted pink hair. For. Some reason. ]

Noah keeps calling me cotton candy and similar things, so that's really the worst part.

[ BROTHERS. ]

It's more rose than cotton candy I think.

[ PRIORITIES. Kallie has no experience with BROTHERS, aside from second-hand knowledge. ]

it doesn't work for me but you might try dyeing part of it to see if it sticks? Even if you keep it, it would be good to know
